Donna, is a woman brought to her knees by a drug habit, working as a street prostitute to feed her addiction. She is forced one night to perform for a camera in exchange for her daily bread. The next day she faces herself.
Simulating a website, the exploitative use of motion picture recording devises juxtaposed with the intimate, baiting advertising practices of the Internet, “shot” explores the modern preoccupation with seeing the ‘unseeable’,
The interactive brings the story of Donna to the surface, forcing the audience to look at the uncomfortable and the banal stories, hidden by dominant discourses on sex and commerce.
It has been exhibited with the St Kilda film festival’s “Fusion” program in Melbourne 2001. Shot exhibited at Transmediale in Berlin 2002, WOW Sydney 2002,
and Biennial of Video and New Media in Santiago de Chile 2003.
