“Shot” is a graduating project from the Victorian College of the Arts. In 2007 Tatiana received AFC funding to develop this project for broadband delivery in partnership with John Pierce.
Synopsis
Donna, is a woman brought to her knees by a drug habit, working as a street prostitute to feed her addiction. She is forced one night to perform for a camera in exchange for her daily bread. The next day she faces herself.
Simulating a website, the exploitative use of motion picture recording devises juxtaposed with the intimate, baiting advertising practices of the Internet, “shot” explores the modern preoccupation with seeing the ‘unseeable’,
The interactive brings the story of Donna to the surface, forcing the audience to look at the uncomfortable and the banal stories, hidden by dominant discourses on sex and commerce.
